Architecture:
Ignition is a robust, customizable and modular SCADA solution capable of fulfilling an unquantifiable range of needs. Solutions include user-friendly custom applications for computer desktop, mobile, web, workstation and HMI; data-analysis tools; and real-time automatic alerts over email, SMS, and Teams. Adaptive plant configuration options make it suitable for any location including corporate deployment, plant-wide management, or a remote facility. Its flexibility enables it to interface with almost every controls and instrumentation product and pull data from devices, PLCs, sensors, databases, corporate software, and APIs. We will analyze your unique plant layout, data needs, and user requirements to specify the right platform configuration.
Project Development:
Included in an Ignition platform as described above, the Ignition Designer brings your ideas to life as we use it to create custom applications that address your plants specific needs. Applications can be run locally, remotely, in a web-browser, on your pc desktop, on a machine workstation or HMI, on a mobile phone or tablet, and broadcast to displays or monitors throughout the plant. The most common use case is to analyze data in order to drive solutions. For instance, track the yield on a production line as compared to rejected product and filter historical trends by date, time, shift, recipe, or equipment line. Applications can be used to advance user interaction and communication for quicker turnaround on requests, entering schedules and recipes, tracking data on digital forms, and much more. Also, any current desktop application or visual interface designed to monitor and manage data and settings for a process can be made and run in Ignition. Generally, the central gateway platform runs all applications and serves them to multiple clients such as remote desktops or machine workstations so it is possible to manage all your projects from one place and make fixes, updates, and adjustments once to deploy to all. We will assess your plant’s unique needs and capabilities to build ideal solutions for your users, data, and processes.

Our consultation extends to the strategic purchasing of robotic parts and assembly line machines, where we help you select the most suitable technology that aligns with your production goals. We assist in the integration and programming of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), facilitating smoother operation and control over your manufacturing processes. For plants looking to enhance their current operations, our experts analyze and recommend reconfigurations of assembly lines to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve workflow. Our consultancy not only helps in the initial setup but also supports continuous improvement, ensuring your manufacturing plant remains at the forefront of automation technology and operational excellence.
Cybersecurity threats are ever evolving and as equipment ages it becomes more vulnerable to attacks and data leaks. Patches, firmware upgrades, and workarounds are introduced every month to address weaknesses in industrial controls hardware and software. Shadowalk Automation stays constantly abreast of these innovations to apply them for our client’s protection. We assess these systems for potential vulnerabilities and deploy measures like network segmentation, updates, security patches where available, or even air-gapping to protect critical systems from external threats.
Through our remote support and monitoring services, we provide a top-level overview for manufacturing plants, enabling our technicians and integrators to keep a vigilant eye on your operations from afar. This modern system allows for real-time monitoring of your automation processes, identifying potential issues before they escalate into costly downtime. With immediate access to your plant’s data, our team can diagnose problems, reconfigure systems, or initiate repairs remotely, reducing the need for physical presence. This not only cuts down on the time and expenses associated with on-site visits but also enhances operational continuity and efficiency. By choosing our remote services, you gain the advantage of constant, proactive support, ensuring your plant runs smoothly with minimal interruptions.
Many legacy systems run on software that's outdated or no longer supported. This can leave equipment wide open to cybersecurity threats, stunt production efficiency, or bar it from being able to interface with newer technologies. We assist in upgrading these systems to newer versions or finding compatible versions that can still interface with existing hardware. For software that cannot be updated, we develop or source custom patches or interfaces. This might involve writing software drivers, emulators, or gateways to allow legacy systems to communicate with new software environments or to integrate with modern IT systems for data collection and analysis.
